RAINBOW RUN:

Tickets are now available on the Redondo ASB webstore for 4th Annual Redondo Rainbow Run. The Redondo Rainbow Run is a fun run around our high school with different color stations. Each station will have color powder that will be thrown at and distributed to the runners. The run is on Saturday May 18th with check in beginning at 8:00am and the run starting at 9:00am. The discounted price for our RBUSD students is only $15 and includes a T-shirt. You can register for the Rainbow Run on the ASB webstore.

CERVANTES CLUB DONANTION DRIVE

On Wednesday, May 1st to Friday, May 10th, Cervantes will be hosting a donation drive in Room 405 for Corazon de Vida, an organization that helps orphanages and abandoned children in Mexico. They will collect detergent, dish soap, heavy duty mops & brooms, large trash bags, Toilet paper, diapers (sizes 4,5,6), pull-ups, feminine products, shampoo, hair conditioners, sun block, body lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, pine sol type cleaners, and Costco and Smart & Final gift cards (must have at least $5 on it). If you have any of these items, or would like to help out, please bring in your items. Some Spanish teachers are offering extra credit, so check with your teacher.

TEEN COURT:

Teen Court has only TWO MORE COURT SESSIONS this year.  Our next session will be on May 1st. 

Sign-ups will begin @ 3:15 and new juror training will begin @ 3:00 in room 506.  Seniors, this is

almost the final opportunity to participate in Teen Court for your Civic Learning assignment.

RUHS CHOIR PROGRAM:

Calling all Sea Hawks interested in music and/or singing!  We are looking for motivated students to be a part of the RUHS choir program for the 2019-2020 school year!  The choir program is open to ALL students who are interested – regardless of previous singing experience.  Chorus is non-auditioned and anyone can join - just speak with your counselor to sign up.   Auditions to join Advanced Chorus will be held May 13th-17th in the choir room.  Please use the following link to sign up for more information and to sign up for an audition slot https://redondounion.edlioschool.com/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=898030&type=u&pREC_ID=1410159.  You may also access audition sign-up information on Kelly Self’s teacher page.  The choir program is additionally looking for advanced piano players to serve as student accompanists within the choir.  Email [email protected] or stop by the choir room if you have any questions! 

EL CAMINO CLASSES: 

10th and 11th graders: Watch your school email for a message about El Camino classes to be offered on the RUHS campus next year. There are two that are available to all students who will be in 11th or 12th grade next year. Communication 100 is a public speaking class. First Aid 1 teaches the basics of first aid including CPR. You get both El Camino and RUHS credit for these classes as well as an extra point toward your GPA. The courses will be held after school hours. The email should show up in your inbox on Monday, April 22nd.

RBEF:

Attention Sea Hawks, are you interested in taking classes during the summer to get ahead in credits? Or to make room in your schedule for a class you really want to take next year? Or to complete a required course for graduation? If so, please consider enrolling in the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation summer program. You can select from a variety of in-person courses such as World or US History, Spanish 2 or 3, Media Arts, and PE. Aside from the in-person classes you can also select several online courses such as Health and Sociology. DRESS CODE:

Please remember that RUHS has a strict dress code policy that needs to be adhered to. Failure to do so will result in having to change and/or fix your outfit. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any adult on campus, or look on the website or in your school planner for the dress code policy of what is allowable and what is not.

PARKING AT RUHS:

Staff and Students: All parking spots are assigned and permitted. In order for you to park in the parking lot during the school day, you MUST have been assigned a designated spot. Please do not park in the parking lot if you did not receive a spot, you will be towed.
