SEA HAWKS OF THE WEEK:

Ms. Karla Curiel would like to nominate, Dylan Douglas. Dylan found a student’s phone on campus and was kind enough to return the phone to the attendance office. The attendance office was able to locate the owner of the phone. The owner was extremely happy and grateful. Thank you for being an awesome Sea Hawk, Dylan!

 

Señorita Grimaldi would like to nominate Eleanor Harmon, Lily Gray and Charles Steerman for going out of their way to help new students who needed help, without being asked. Thank you for your kindness!

 

Ms. Johanna Abdelsayed would like to nominate, Ally Gnadt. Ally is an amazing support to her peers in class and is always willing to help them review and study.

 

Ms. Amanda Duran would like to nominate, Cecil Belda. Cecil is fantástico in Spanish class. He has been a leader since day 1. He is enthusiastic, helpful and willing to help others. Cecil loves volunteering and leading the calendar in Spanish. Gracias for your good example Cecil!

HOMECOMING DANCE:

Be sure to get your Homecoming Dance tickets! This year, the Homecoming Dance is going to take place on Saturday, September 21st. The theme is “Neon Nights”, and your ticket will include a food truck, game truck, dancing, table games, (air hockey and ping pong), and dancing! Tickets cost $35 with an ASB card and $40 without. Prices WILL go up, so be sure to purchase your ticket now!

 ASB INFORMATION:

*Hey Seniors! It's not too late to buy a Senior Sticker and enjoy all the fun senior events we have to offer (plus food!)! Stickers cost $40 and can be purchased in the ASB finance office! Hurry before it's too late!

*Attention all Freshmen! Interested in joining ASB and helping create events for your class and school? ASB will be holding interviews for an open position. Please see Mrs. Mata in the ASB room, upstairs in the Administration building, for an application. You MUST apply with Mrs. Mata, Activities Director.

 

MATH TUTORING:

Need help with math? Come down to Room 313 during lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for help! Need community service hours? Like math? Come down to the Math Tutoring Club to volunteer as a math tutor for community service!

 

AP STUDENTS:

The ASB Finance Office is now accepting payments for AP exams. The exams do not happen until May, but College Board requires us to order in the fall. AP Exam payment is due by October 1.

 

SURF TRYOUTS:

Surf tryouts will be on Sunday, September 8th at 7:00 a.m. at the South Side of the Hermosa Beach Pier.  We are looking for male and female short boarders and long boarders.  Please bring all of your own equipment.

 

PERFORMING ARTS:

Enjoy acting and performing? Love to design and be involved in the tech side of theater? It’s time to get ready for auditions and interviews for our Mainstage Winter Play – The Crucible and our Comedy Sportz competitive improv league team! RUHS Theatre Arts will be holding an informational meeting at 3:15 pm on Monday September 9th in the Blackbox. Come and get more information about how to audition and interview to be involved in our amazing performing arts programs here at RUHS!

THE NEST:

Senior Parent Night – RUHS Library Tuesday, Sept 17 @6pm-7:30pm or Wed, Sept 18 @6pm-7:30pm.

 

REDONDO RED: Every Friday at Redondo is Redondo Friday! So sport RED or Redondo gear.

Everyone should have received a Red spirit shirt on the first day of school, so you have something to wear!

 

DRESS CODE:

Please remember that RUHS has a strict dress code policy that needs to be adhered to. Failure to do so will result in having to change and/or fix your outfit. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any adult on campus, or look on the website or in your school planner for the dress code policy of what is allowable and what is not.

 

PARKING AT RUHS:

Staff and Students: All parking spots are assigned and permitted. In order for you to park in the

parking lot during the school day, you MUST have been assigned a designated spot. Please do not park in the parking lot if you did not receive a spot, you will be towed.
