FIRST SENIOR EVENT:

Get ready for our first senior event, Senior Kickoff on Friday, October 18th. We'll be taking a panorama picture, so make sure to have fun making and collaborating on your very own senior shirts with friends, or please wear your class shirt! Enjoy our fun lunch event filled with games, music, and food! Can't wait to see you all there! For the Senior Panorama picture, Seniors are allowed to make shirts. Any message on shirts for the senior panorama must be school spirit related. Any message with an ambiguous meaning will be rejected. Direct any questions to Mr. Ziegler in room 164.

SWIM TRYOUTS:

All swim tryouts will be held Monday, November 18th, 2019.

WATER POLO TRY OUTS:

Girls Varsity water polo will tryout during 5th period, and all boys water polo will tryout during 6th. After school, tryouts will be held for the following: all freshmen and JV girls water polo, all other non-water polo swimmers.

BASEBALL TRYOUTS:

Baseball tryouts will be held on November 1, 4, and 5. Any questions please see Coach Diver.

RU CLASSIC CAR SHOW:

October 19th—6th Annual RU Classic Car Show

FUNDRAISING FOUNDATION:

The fundraising foundation is currently hosting a hygiene product drive for orphans in Mexico through the organization, Corazon de Vida. Anyone who donates to the drive can receive extra credit in their Spanish classes, please speak with your teacher for details. Some needed hygiene products include soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, hand sanitizer, and deodorant. Donations can be delivered to room 405. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

FIRST CAMAL OF THE YEAR:

The first California Math League Contest will be held next Tuesday October 22 at lunch in Room 316.  This is a chance to earn extra credit in your math class (Geometry or higher).

2019-2020 YEARBOOK DEDICATIONS:

Submission options:

  • Submit and design online at: www.yearbookordercenter.com. This is the best and easiest option.
  • If you want us to design the dedication, email digital files to [email protected]

  • All photos should be in .tiff or .jpg format at 300dpi. We are not responsible for the quality of

reproduction of ads/photos under 300 dpi. Do not print photos on a home printer – send us the

Original digital file at its highest resolution. Photos taken from social media may not print properly, and we cannot be held responsible for this.

  • No cut and paste collages. • Put your name and address on the back of any photo you want

WE ARE ONE CLUB:

Come join We Are One! We are a club that promotes cultural understanding & awareness. We do spectrum activities inspired by Jubilee. Last year we had a poster campaign around campus to stop stereotypes against minorities. If you are interested, we meet on Tuesdays in Room 804.

PTSA REFLECTIONS:

The PTSA Reflections Contest! This year’s theme: Look within. Attached you will find the requirements and applications. Students can drop their entries off with Ms. Roth in room 113 or with Jennifer Gabriel in the office. Deadline to submit: 10/20/2019. Categories include:

WANT TO LEARN TO HACK?

Hack Club is where creative people come together to build amazing things. On your first day, you'll build your very own website from scratch. Learn to code as you build websites, apps, and games. Come join the fun of pizza, music, and CODING AWESOME STUFF! No experience necessary. Hack Club meets after school on Thursdays and during lunch on Fridays at Mr. Middler's room 150."

RED CROSS:

The Redondo Union Red Cross Club want to invite you to come join us and participate in a variety of volunteering services and activities throughout the year! Not only will you be helping out the school and your community, but you will also be building your academic resume along the way. Meetings are held every Friday in Mrs. Keller’s room, 827. We hope to see you there!

CHEMISTRY TUTOR:

Need help with Chemistry? Come down to Room 122 during lunch on Tuesdays, and Thursdays for help! All qualified tutor who volunteer will receive community service hour!

 MATH TUTORING:

*There will be free math tutoring after school from 3 to 4 PM on Tuesdays in Room 152 and on Thursdays in Room 209.

*Need help with math? Come down to Room 313 during lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and

Thursdays for help! Need community service hours? Like math? Come down to the Math Tutoring Club to volunteer as a math tutor for community service!

VOLUNTEER OPERTUNITY

 The Redondo Beach Public Library are looking for student volunteers to help them with their Annual Book Sale.  Students are needed on October 21st-25th to help move and organize books as well as assisting on the day of the Book Sale on Saturday, October 26.  Stop by the Nest to sign up to help.  All students who volunteer will receive a letter certifying their volunteer hours.

REDONDO RED: Every Friday at Redondo is Redondo Friday! So sport RED or Redondo gear. Everyone should have received a Red spirit shirt on the first day of school, so you have something to wear!

DRESS CODE:

Please remember that RUHS has a strict dress code policy that needs to be adhered to. Failure to do so will result in having to change and/or fix your outfit. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any adult on campus, or look on the website or in your school planner for the dress code policy of what is allowable and what is not.

PARKING AT RUHS:

Staff and Students: All parking spots are assigned and permitted. In order for you to park in the parking lot during the school day, you MUST have been assigned a designated spot. Please do not park in the parking lot if you did not receive a spot, you will be towed.
