SCE Outages:
Many of you or some of you may be receiving notices from Southern California Edison (SCE)
regarding upcoming service outages. These notices are usually emailed a week in advance by SCE to alert the community of scheduled equipment upgrades in your area. If this is the case, please plan ahead by: Signing up with SCE to receive these notifications.
Communicating with your child’s teacher(s) so they know your student(s) is not in the live session due to the SCE temporary service outage. Students, who are impacted by this outage, will not be

RUHS Counseling Department regarding student courses for fall semester:
There continues to be a lot of movement in scheduling during this unique time, which may result in changes to students’ current courses that are viewable in PowerSchool. You do not need to call or email the school to report the issue. Any student with an error on their draft schedule can complete the RUHS Request for Course Change 2020-2021 Google Form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdKHyn0doyc7LTmaCFxvMIhXPHI3umurhwBKxOGK_-QTa6X8A/viewform
If you do not have a complete schedule or if you need something changed in your schedule, please
know that your counselor is working to provide you a complete schedule. Please be aware that
schedule change requests are based on space availability within the school’s master schedule and are not guaranteed.
Student Schedules will be adjusted for the following reasons:
- Course changes necessitated by summer school attendance
- Error in schedule. Example - Spanish 4 instead of French 4
- Change from one level to the other. Example – Honors English 10 to CP English 10
- Selection for a year round sports team or activity
- Change to course based on not meeting a pre-requisite
- Duplicate or missing periods
Student Schedules will NOT be adjusted for the following reasons:
- Desire to change teacher(s)/order of periods.
- Changed mind regarding a course. Desire for elective to be placed at the end of the day.
- Requesting enrollment in a zero period to have a free period at end of day
Course change requests are not processed via email and are only considered when submitted through the RUHS Request for Course Change 2020-2021 Google Form. This applies to any schedule change requests that may have been submitted via email over the summer break as well.
All students will need to check their “Class Schedule” on the first day of school. If course changes were made that result in a change of textbook, we will advise students how to exchange textbooks at that time. We appreciate your patience and understanding; and we look forward to an exciting start to a new school year.
