REGISTRATION FOR SEA HAWK MARKETPLACE
The RUHS PTSA is hosting the First Annual Sea Hawk Marketplace on Friday, April 28 in the Quad after school, where RUHS student creators or entrepreneurs can showcase and sell their wares. This is a free community event to celebrate the ingenuity of RUHS students and the art of hand-crafted goods. So far there are already over 40 booths signed up for this event and registration is open now through April 17th! Do you code games, make art, cook, make delicious drinks like boba or smoothies, or have a hobby that creates a craft that you can sell? We are looking for booths to make and sell savory food items, beverages, crafts and games (jewelry and sweet food items have reached the maximum sign-ups) or anything else that is different and creative.
To register as a vendor for Sea Hawk Marketplace, complete these two steps:
Step 1: Pick a slot on this Sign Up Genius for the category of the item you will be making and selling.
Step 2: Fill out this Google Form to complete your registration.
Registration deadline is April 17th. You will receive a confirmation email after you complete steps 1 and 2. Please email Amy Huh ([email protected]), the Event Chair from a non-RBUSD email, if you have any questions.
SEA HAWKS REGISTER TO VOTE!
Good afternoon, Sea Hawks! Are you registered to vote? The 26th Amendment to the US Constitution states, "The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age." If you would like to exercise your right to vote, the League of Women Voters of the Beach Cities will be on campus in the Quad on Tuesday, April 18th during snack and lunch to help you get registered. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can PRE-register and you will be eligible to vote when you turn 18. You just need your driver's license, California ID, or the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. As Susan B. Anthony once said, "Someone struggled for your right to vote. Use it." SOCAL ROC MEDIA DESIGN COURSE
Attention students: Are you interested in exploring a career in graphic arts? Enroll in our 8-week course - Media Design II (Illustrator) at SoCal ROC! This course is online and after school. Learn how to use this industry standard design program that lets you capture your creative vision with shapes, color, effects, and typography. Create beautiful designs that can go anywhere - print, web and apps, video and animations, and more! Earn 5 high school elective credits in 8 weeks, while learning valuable skills! This course and Adobe Illustrator software are FREE for high school students. Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist is available to answer any questions in the Nest every Thursday during 2nd period and snack. YOUNG ADULT JOB FAIR AT EL CAMINO COLLEGE - On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, the South Bay Workforce Investment Board will hold the 23rd Annual “Blueprint for Workplace Youth and Young Adult Job Fair” at El Camino College. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

PTA is sponsoring the annual Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Forum in the RUHS Auditorium on Thursday, April 27 from 7-9 pm. If you are interested in attending, please see the attached flyer to sign up for this great opportunity!
FIRST ANNUAL TEEN JOB FAIR
We are excited to announce the First Annual Teen Job Fair on Thursday May 11th at 12:50pm in the RUHS campus Student Union. This is a great chance to showcase businesses in the community AND for our eager work-ready students to find employment for the summer, and beyond. If your business or a business you know of may be interested in attending the Teen Job Fair to connect with students and our campus community at large, please fill out this Google Form or respond to this email.

SOCAL ROC
Attention Students: SoCal ROC Spring semester enrollment has begun! Earn high school elective credits while learning valuable skills that prepare you for college and/or an entry-level career. Courses are after school and FREE for high school students. FREE bus transportation is also available to and from our center for all RUHS students enrolled in our 1:15pm and 4:15pm classes. Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist is available in the Nest to answer any questions every Thursday during 2nd period and snack. Add your name to the signup sheet in the Nest to meet with her ASAP!
