VOTER REGISTRATION OPPORTUNITY
Sea Hawks, are you registered to vote in the upcoming March 5th California primary? The League of Women Voters of Beach Cities will be in the RUHS Quad on Thursday, February 8th to help you get registered if you would like to exercise your right to vote. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can PRE-register and you will be eligible to vote when you turn 18. You just need your driver’s license, California ID, or the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.
2024 NATIONAL YOUTH SCIENCE CAMP
The California Department of education is pleased to announce that applications are open for the 2024 National Youth Science Camp (NYSC) for high-achieving, science-oriented students. Hosted by NYSC, this annual residential science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) program for high school students is designed to honor and challenge some of the nation’s young leaders and provide them with opportunities to engage with STEAM professionals and participate in exciting outdoor activities. FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR COLLEGE
Please join us on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the RUHS Auditorium for a Financial Planning for College presentation from Kinecta Federal Credit Union and Outreach at USC Financial Aid Office. This event is open to all grade levels and topics will include: saving for college, the basics and types of financial aid, how to apply, and outside scholarship resources. Courtesy of Kinecta, refreshments will be provided starting at 5:30 p.m.. Please see the attached flyer for more information and to register for this exciting event.
SOCAL ROC SPRING SEMESTER
Attention students SoCal ROC Spring semester enrollment has begun! Earn high school elective credits while learning valuable skills that prepare you for college and/or an entry-level career. Courses are after school and FREE for high school students. FREE transportation is also available to and from our center for all RUHS students enrolled in our 1:15pm and 4:15pm classes. Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist is available in the Nest to answer any questions every Monday for 1st, 2nd period and snack, Thursday during 2nd period and snack. Add your name to the sign-up sheet in the Nest to meet with her ASAP!
AQUATICS LIFEGUARD
Interested in becoming a lifeguard? RBUSD is hiring a lifeguard/swim instructor. Must be at least 16 years of age and have American Red Cross certification including Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications. Click here to apply!
