SOCAL ROC EBLAST
Attention students: Are you interested in a career in Welding? Enroll in our 8-week course at SoCal ROC!. The course is fom 1:15p to 4:15pm. This course is after school at our campus in Torrance. Learn about the most commonly utilized welding processes along with essential topics such as terminology, welding design, and welding safety. You will learn the art and science of welding and metal fabrication in a true environment with hands-on training. Earn 5 high school credits in 8 weeks while learning valuable skills. Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist is available to answer any questions in the Nest Every Thursday during 2nd period and snack. Add your name to the sign-up sheet in the Nest to meet with her ASAP!
SAFER GET TOGETHERS INFO
RUHS Juniors and Seniors and their parents/guardians are invited to join us on Thursday, March 21st from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on WebEx with former city prosecutor and the author of “What They Don’t Teach Teens,” Jonathan Cristall, Esq. to learn about creating Safer Get Togethers. Jonathan will discuss:
- Bystander intervention techniques and 911 immunity laws
- Situational awareness (via eyes, ears, intuition) at parties
- Sexual consent and the consumption of alcohol (or other drugs)
- Social Host liability laws (when adults can be held liable for underage drinking that occurs in their homes)
- Potential consequences of using a fake ID
- Your rights when police show up at a party and want to search or question you

RBPD is having an E-Bike Safety Seminar for all parents AND students on Thursday, April 4th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the RUHS Auditorium. Be sure to mark your calendar and see the flyer for more details.
RUHS PERFORMING ARTS: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
RUHS Performing Arts proudly presents: Disney’s Beauty & the Beast! Featuring 126 RUHS students on stage, backstage and in the orchestra! Be our guest in the RUHS Auditorium March 15, 16, 22, 23 at 7:00 pm and March 17 and 23 at 2:00 pm! Tickets can be purchased for $15.00 through any show member, at the RUHS ASB Finance Office, and ruhsdrama.com. Tickets are $20 at the door. We hope to see you there for this enchanting Broadway spectacular!
CLASS OF 2024 GRAD NITE
California Adventure Disneyland Grad Nite tickets for sale. Tickets must be purchased in person at the ASB Finance Office. Tickets cannot be purchased without a signed permission slip (permission slips available in Gov/Econ classes). Tickets are $190 ($180 with Senior Sticker). Bus assignments are first come, first served. If you want to be assigned to the same bus as your friends, buy tickets at the same time. Deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, March 15th. TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. The permission slip is attached.
TEENS IN POLICING 2024
The Teens in Policing program is designed to provide young members of our community to explore how modern policing works. This is accomplished through learning activities, interaction, and discussion between teens and the law enforcement personnel who serve their communities. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
2024 NATIONAL YOUTH SCIENCE CAMP
The California Department of Education is pleased to announce that applications are open for the 2024 National Youth Service Science Camp (NYSC) for high-achieving, science oriented students. The 2024 NYSC will be held in the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia from June 29 to July 20, 2024. The NYSC is open to graduating seniors and also juniors. The completed application and supporting materials must be submitted by 8:59 p.m. PST on February 29, 2024. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
AQUATICS LIFEGUARD
Interested in becoming a lifeguard? RBUSD is hiring a lifeguard/swim instructor. Must be at least 16 years of age and have American Red Cross certification including Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications. Click here to apply!
