CAL KIDS

 

To help give parents/caregivers a kickstart to saving, the state of California has officially launched the nation’s largest college savings program. The California Kids Investment and Development Savings (CalKIDs) program will help eligible low-income families with students enrolled in public school’s access college savings created in their children’s names, with seed investments between $500 and $1,500. Children of low-income families currently in grades 1-12, and newborns born in California on or after July 1, 2022, qualify. College Night at El Camino College – November 13

Coca Cola Scholarships

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based $20,000 scholarship awarded to 150 qualifying high school seniors who will pursue a degree at a post-secondary institution in the U.S. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. Picture Re-Takes

 

Did you miss Registration? Did you not have your photo taken for the yearbook? Our makeup picture day is coming up on Monday, September 30

All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who still need their photos taken for the yearbook will be issued a call slip to go to the Dance Room on the second floor of the Small Gym on Monday, September 30. If you arrive at school early, the photographer will be there, ready for make-up photos beginning at 8:30 am. Please plan to have your photo taken before school or during a break; otherwise, please report at your scheduled time. 

This is your last chance to be in the yearbook!

Seniors can report to the Dance Room at their scheduled time.

 

PSAT

 

The Digital PSAT is coming to RUHS on Wednesday, October 16, and is available to all freshman, sophomore, and junior students.


Taking the PSAT each year not only prepares students for the SAT as well as the chance to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program, but also helps students track their progress toward college and career readiness from year to year. See attached flyer for more details.

 

ROBOTICS

 

Beach Cities Robotics Fall Open House this Sunday, September 29th from 1:00-3:00pm! Join us to learn more about Beach Cities Robotics and discover the roles engineering and business play in our team!

 

SCHOOL TO CAREER

 

Monthly lunchtime ‘job readiness’ workshop in the Support Services Building on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. October Wednesday Session will be held on 10/23.

THEATER ARTS

 

RUHS Theatre Arts will be holding technical interviews for the Winter Show– The Play That Goes Wrong! This award-winning hilarious comedy follows a troupe of actors putting on a murder mystery, where everything goes wrong! Interviews for technical crew will be held September 30th.
