CAML CONTEST:
The second California Math League (CAML) Contest will be held Tuesday November 13 at lunch in room 316. Earn extra credit in Math (Geometry or higher) by solving non-routine math problems.
PROJECT UNIFIED:
Project Unified is coming to RUHS. Please help support our RBUSD families this holiday season. Stop by the PTSA's gift giving display in the Admin. Building from November 13 - December 5 and pick up a gift tag with a wish list item.
SPORTS TRYOUT:
*Boys lacrosse tryouts will be held Tuesday, December 18 and Wednesday, December 19 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on the athletic field.
*Track tryouts will be held Tuesday December 4 and Thursday December 6 at 3:15 PM on the track. You must attend both days of the tryout. Sign up with Coach Kelley at the front desk in the main office.
ACADEMIC LETTER AWARDS:
Please come by Jennifer Gabriel’s office to pick up your award if you were unable to attend. Starting 11/13/2018 till Thanksgiving Break.
PARKING AT RUHS:
Staff and Students: All parking spots are assigned and permitted. In order for you to park in the parking lot during the school day, you MUST have been assigned a designated spot. Please do not park in the parking lot if you did not receive a spot, you will be towed.
EL CAMINO COLLEGE NIGHT:
El Camino College will sponsor a College Night event to showcase the many academic opportunities, support services and educational resources available to students. Prospective students, parents, adult learners, educators, and community members are invited to attend this open house event anytime between 5:30 and 8 p.m. on Nov. 14. College Night will feature a variety of workshops, a resource fair, and twilight campus tours. We invite all prospective students to join us and get to know El Camino College at this event, El Camino College offers a supportive and welcoming college experience for students of all ages and academic goals – it’s not too late to earn a college degree or certificate. We’re here to help you take the next step toward a new future. Participants will learn about financial aid, scholarships, transfer strategies, and Special Resources Center services, among other topics. Future students can also find assistance in completing their ECC application. El Camino College deans and counselors will be on hand to answer questions. MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK:
Mental Health Awareness Week is coming up next week, from November 13th through 16th! Come out to the auditorium lawn at lunch, Tuesday and Wednesday, for yoga with Coach Dessert and to the Student Union, Tuesday and Thursday, for more fun activities! Each day you come to participate in Mental Health Awareness Week, you can win tickets to be entered in a raffle to win half off Prom tickets, and gift cards to In-N-Out, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and many more! Additionally, there will be a scholarship opportunity for all students at RUHS to participate in. An art contest with the theme, “Mental health is…” is currently accepting any pieces of art that are not 3D or video. The first place winner wins $250, second place wins $200, and third place wins $150. The art must be submitted to Ms. Roth’s room, Room 113, by November 14th, with the submitted application that can be picked up from any art teacher’s room on campus or the front office. *El Camino College counselor will be visiting the Nest every Tuesday during 4th and 6th period starting October 30. Stop by the Nest to sign up and meet one on one with the El Camino counselor to discuss how to apply and sign up for classes.
RED CROSS COLLECTION DRIVE FOR VETERANS:
The Redondo Union Red Cross Club will be holding a Veterans Collection Drive. We will be gathering personal care items to donate to veterans in need through the Veteran Association Los Angeles Area. New personal care items can include soap, toothbrushes, shaving cream and much more. Please take a moment to assist our veterans by donating these items. Items can be dropped off in a collection drive box either in Room 705 or at the front desk. Thank you for your contributions.
FREE MATH TUTORING:
The Math Department is offering free math tutoring after school on Mondays through Thursdays until 4PM. Mondays in room 315; Tuesdays in room 213; Wednesdays in room 306; Thursdays in room 309 the week of Nov 13?
POKEMON CLUB:
Students are you interested in Pokemon? Then come to the Pokemon club. There will be prizes, drawing, tournaments, and of course the Pokemon. The club will be on Tuesday and Thursday at room 163 or 162 at lunch. So come on down to catch it.
MUSIC LOVERS:
Jam club will be meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Mr.Soohoos room, room 209. Anyone with any musical experience is welcome, they will be playing every and all types of music so come on down and have a jammin' time.

Please remember that RUHS has a strict dress code policy that needs to be adhered to. Failure to do so will result in having to change and/or fix your outfit. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any adult on campus, or look on the website or in your school planner for the dress code policy of what is allowable and what is not.
