SEA HAWKS OF THE WEEK:

PROJECT UNIFIED:

Congratulations to the Juniors and Seniors who were honored at Academic Letter Night.  If you were unable to attend the event, please pick up your letter or pin and certificate from Jennifer Gabriel in the Admin. Building by Friday, November 30.

FUZZY SOCK GRAMS:

Starting 12/3/2018 ASB will be selling Fuzzy Sock Grams for the Holiday Season. Each gram is $3 and includes a pair of festive socks and a note. Come out to freshman circle at lunch next week to pre-order grams.

TEEN COURT:

Our next Teen Court case is coming up on December 5th! Training for new jurors will be in Room 506 at 3pm and the case will begin at 3:15 in the court room. Students using Teen Court as their “Civic Responsibility” assignment for Government please be aware that this is the last chance to attend Teen Court this semester.

RUHS THEATRE ARTS:

RUHS Theatre Arts is proud to present IN ANY LANGUAGE! Performances will take place in the RUHS Auditorium December 6, 7, 8 at 7:00 pm with a 2:00 matinee on December 9. Tickets can be purchased for $8.00 pre-sale through any show member, or at the ASB finance office. Tickets are $10.00 at the door and online at ruhsdrama.com. “In Any Language” is a hilarious comedy that plays on the satire of classic Italian Cinema. Come see what happens when an American actress travels to Rome to make a movie – but can’t speak the language! We hope to see you there!

 ATTENTION SENIORS:

*MAKE UP PICTURE DAY FOR ALL SENIORS is Tuesday, December 4th from 8am-1pm in the Bingo Room. If you have not gone to Lifetouch Prestige Portrait Studios, stop by the receptionist desk in the main office to schedule an appointment. This will ensure that your photo will be in the yeabook. Don’t miss out!

*This Monday, December 3rd is Cap and Gown orders at school in your Gov/Econ classes. Please be sure to put your order in! Any purchases made after December 3rd may inquire a late fee.

SPORTS TRYOUT:

*Boys lacrosse tryouts will be held Tuesday, December 18 and Wednesday, December 19 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on the athletic field.

*Track tryouts will be held Tuesday December 4 and Thursday December 6 at 3:15 PM on the track. You must attend both days of the tryout. Sign up with Coach Kelley at the front desk in the main office.

CAN FOOD DRIVE:

Sea Hawks, get ready to help others stay happy and fed this holiday season! RUHS ASB is hosting a class spirit canned food drive. Bring your unopened dry shelf goods and cans to your class colored boxes down in the front office from Dec. 3 - Dec. 21st. Once again the drive ends the 21st at lunch so be sure to bring in your cans and help those who need a little extra cheer in their life.

ATTENTION AP STUDENTS:

Reminder that the window for ordering AP Exams closes Friday, January 18th. There will be significant additional costs for late orders. Please be sure to make your payments to the ASB Finance Office or on the RUHS Webstore as soon as possible. Don’t wait till last minute and face long lines. Any students needing to request financial assistance, please see Patty Ulrich in the Admin. Bldg., as soon as possible to start the application process.

WANT TO LEARN TO PROGRAM?

Want to learn and practice more advanced techniques? Redondo Union will be joining forces with Mira Costa to sponsor a local Hackathon where you can put your programming skills to the test and do exactly that!  Local Hack Day is a Hackathon that will be taking place at Mira Costa High School on December 1st, from 9AM - 9PM. Hackathons are 12 hour long events where groups of people get together, attend workshops, and work on anything that they can dream up and complete over the course of the event. No experience necessary! The event is free and dinner will be provided, as long as you register. To do that and get more information, see Mr. Middler in room 150 or contact Benjamin Tait. Please remember that RUHS has a strict dress code policy that needs to be adhered to. Failure to do so will result in having to change and/or fix your outfit. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any adult on campus, or look on the website or in your school planner for the dress code policy of what is allowable and what is not.

COMMUNITY HELPLINE:

Community Helpline is a toll-free, confidential crisis and referral hotline. They are currently

accepting applications for their fall training class. If you are 16 or over and would like to learn more

about volunteering for the helpline please see the Community Helpline Flyer outside the ASB room

PARKING AT RUHS:

Staff and Students: All parking spots are assigned and permitted. In order for you to park in the parking lot during the school day, you MUST have been assigned a designated spot. Please do not park in the parking lot if you did not receive a spot, you will be towed!
