SEA HAWKS OF THE WEEK:

EL CAMINO CLASSES:

Juniors and seniors. You can take El Camino classes on the Redondo campus and receive both high school and college credit. Next Spring, First Aid and Administration of Justice will be taught on our campus. Each meets for an hour and a half, twice a week. See your email for more information and a Google Form link. These classes must attract 24 students each by December 14th in order to

guarantee they will run.

CAML:

The next CAML Contest will be held next Tuesday December 11 at lunch in room 316. Solve the

non-routine problems to earn extra credit in your math class (Geometry and higher).

SPANISH CLUB:

Experience the holiday tradition of Las Posadas with the Spanish Club! We are sponsoring a trip to Olvera Street for Las Posadas on Thursday, December 20. We will leave RUHS at 4:00 and return by

9:00. The trip costs $10 and is open to all RUHS students. Get a permission slip from any Spanish teacher and turn them in to Ms. Robinson in room 502 or Ms. Muñoz in room 406. The buses fill up every year, so don’t wait. Nos vemos en la calle Olvera!

ASB CANNED FOOD DRIVE:

Sea Hawks, let’s help others stay happy and fed this holiday season! RUHS ASB is hosting a class spirit canned food drive. Bring your unopened dry shelf goods and cans to your class colored boxes down in the front office from Dec. 3 - Dec. 21st. The highest raising class get 50 points, 2nd place gets 40 points, 3rd place 30 points and 4th place 20 points. Once again the drive ends the 21st at lunch so be sure to bring in your cans and help those who need a little extra cheer in their life.

CERVANTES HYGIENE SUPPLY DRIVE:

We Are One and Cervantes are hosting an Item Drive for local resettled immigrants and refugees this holiday season! We are collecting new, unopened hygiene supplies (such as toothbrushes,

deodorant, razors, hairbrushes, or other toiletries) as well as school backpacks (for elementary and high school students). Please bring your donations between December 3rd and December 16th to

collection boxes in Room 405 or Room 804. Thank you for your kind contributions!

TALENT SHOW:

Our 1st Annual Talent show will be on Thursday December 13th at 7pm in the Auditorium! Buy your tickets for $5 with Mrs. Pattison or Ms. Clayton! You don't want to miss it! Redondo's got talent!!

SPORTS TRYOUT:

*Boys volleyball tryouts will take place on Tuesday, December 11th and Friday, December 14th from 3:15 – 5:00 PM.  Please meet in the lobby of the small gym.

*Boys lacrosse tryouts will be held Tuesday, December 18 and Wednesday, December 19 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on the athletic field.

*Tryouts for the RUHS Boys' Tennis Team will begin Tuesday 1/15, on the UPPER courts (near Vincent & Prospect) at 2pm, and continue Wednesday 1/16. Please be prepared to attend both days and stay as late as 5pm if needed. These tryouts will include freshmen, new players, and non-starters from last year's JV team, and will consist of singles match play. Please make sure you are familiar with scoring and singles match play format beforehand.

ATTENTION AP STUDENTS:

Reminder that the window for ordering AP Exams closes Friday, January 18th. There will be

significant additional costs for late orders. Please be sure to make your payments to the ASB Finance Office or on the RUHS Webstore as soon as possible. Don’t wait till last minute and face long lines. Any students needing to request financial assistance, please see Patty Ulrich in the Admin. Bldg., as soon as possible to start the application process.

RUHS CHOIR & ACAPELLA PERFORMANCE:

Get in the spirit of the season and come hear the RUHS Choirs and Acapella Club perform in their Winter Concert.  The concert will take place on Tuesday, December 18th @6:30pm in the RUHS

Auditorium and will feature holiday music from across the globe.  Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10 general admission and $7 with ASB.  Hope to see you there!

NEST INFO:

Seniors: 

*El Camino College counselor will be visiting the Nest every Tuesday during 4th and 6th period starting October 30. Stop by the Nest to sign up and meet one on one with the El Camino counselor to discuss how to apply and sign up for classes.

DRESS CODE:

Please remember that RUHS has a strict dress code policy that needs to be adhered to. Failure to do so will result in having to change and/or fix your outfit. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any adult on campus, or look on the website or in your school planner for the dress code policy of what is allowable and what is not.

COMMUNITY HELPLINE:

Community Helpline is a toll-free, confidential crisis and referral hotline. They are currently

accepting applications for their fall training class. If you are 16 or over and would like to learn more

about volunteering for the helpline please see the Community Helpline Flyer outside the ASB room

PARKING AT RUHS:

Staff and Students: All parking spots are assigned and permitted. In order for you to park in the

parking lot during the school day, you MUST have been assigned a designated spot. Please do not park in the parking lot if you did not receive a spot, you will be towed.
