RUHS THEATRE ARTS:

RUHS Theatre Arts will be holding auditions and technical interviews for the Spring Musical – Into the Woods, the Broadway fairytale mash-up hit! Auditions will be held January 14th for actors, and interviews January 17th for technical crew. For more information, please check out our Google Classroom Page, code PJL54G. FAMILIES CONNECTED SPEAKERS SERIES:

Grit, Resilience & Growth Mindset with Dr. Mike Gervais. January 16th at Redondo Union High School Auditorium. Please see attached flyer for details and registration information. As well as upcoming events.

Girls Lacrosse Tryouts:

Open tryouts for girls lacrosse will be on Monday 1/14 and Tuesday 1/15 from 3:15 to 4:15 on the lacrosse field. Girls should wear workout clothes.

TRYOUTS BOYS TENNIS TEAM:

RUHS Boys' Tennis Team will begin Tuesday 1/15, on the UPPER courts (near Vincent & Prospect) at 2pm, and continue Wednesday 1/16. These are scheduled minimum days and will not interfere with school hours. Please be prepared to attend both days and stay as late as 5pm if needed. These tryouts will include freshmen, new players, and non-starters from last year's JV team, and will consist of singles match play. Please make sure you are familiar with scoring and singles match play format beforehand.

RUHS SOUND WAVES:

Are you interested in singing or beatboxing?  RUHS Sound Waves Contemporary Acapella club is looking to add a few new members to the group for the new year.  Join us this Friday, January 18th from 3:15-4:15pm in the choir room to try it out!  Email [email protected] with any questions.

PTSA ICE SKATING FUNDRAISER:

Ice Skating Fundraiser! Proceeds to benefit Redondo Union High School (PTSA)! Saturday February 2nd from 7:15pm-9:45pm. Cost is $11.00 per person at The Toyota Sports Center

CAML:

Congratulations to Max Black for earning another perfect score on last week’s CAML Contest! He was followed closely by Ben Tait, Logan Hayes, and Caitlyn Kyle, who each scored 5 out of 6.  The next CAML Contest will be on February 12.

RU READY NIGHT:

Want to get to know our beautiful 56-acre campus better? From 4:30-5:15, we will have a self-guided tour available for our future Sea Hawks and their families. Come get familiar with our wonderful facilities, and get a sneak peek into some of our classrooms! Docents will be available at key locations to answer any questions you may have. Also join us for more information after. With over 3,000 students, RUHS prides itself in campus culture and with the student and faculty connections we make. There are over 75 clubs, and a plethora of organizations to get involved in. Come check out the Campus Culture and Club Faire from 5:00-6:00 on the Auditorium Lawn to learn more about all of the ways to get involved at RUHS! There is truly something for everyone! ATTENTION AP STUDENTS:

Reminder that the window for ordering AP Exams closes Friday, January 18th. There will be significant additional costs for late orders. Please be sure to make your payments to the ASB Finance Office or on the RUHS Webstore as soon as possible. Don’t wait till last minute and face long lines. Any students needing to request financial assistance, please see Patty Ulrich in the Admin. Bldg.

DRESS CODE:

Please remember that RUHS has a strict dress code policy that needs to be adhered to. Failure to do so will result in having to change and/or fix your outfit. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any adult on campus, or look on the website or in your school planner for the dress code policy of what is allowable and what is not.

COMMUNITY HELPLINE:

Community Helpline is a toll-free, confidential crisis and referral hotline. They are currently accepting applications for their fall training class. If you are 16 or over and would like to learn more about volunteering for the helpline please see the Community Helpline Flyer outside the ASB room or email [email protected] directly.

PARKING AT RUHS:

Staff and Students: All parking spots are assigned and permitted. In order for you to park in the parking lot during the school day, you MUST have been assigned a designated spot. Please do not park in the parking lot if you did not receive a spot, you will be towed.
